Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until ye come to the graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the eye of certainty 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
