Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Until you visit the graveyards. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
