Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 till you reached the grave. 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge, 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, on that day, you will be questioned about the bounties (of God). 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
