The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 On the contrary! He shall be flung to the Crusher. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 it closes in on them from every side 8 In outstretched columns. 9
True are the words of God the Almighty.
