The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe unto every slandering traducer, 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
