The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
