Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 who amasses wealth, counting it over, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 in extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
