The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 How will you comprehend what Hutama is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
