Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 It will engulf them. 8 in columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
