The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 closed around them 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
