Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after Hoarding (Al-Takaathur) before The Disbelievers (Al-Kaaferoon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

HAST THOU ever considered [the kind of man] who gives the lie to all moral law? 1 Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness), 2 and never encourages the feeding of the destitute. 3 Woe to those who pray 4 But who are oblivious of their moral duties, 5 Those who (want but) to be seen (of men), 6 And refuse Al-Ma'un (small kindnesses e.g. salt, sugar, water, etc.). 7

True are the words of God the Almighty.
