Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
