Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
