Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames! 3 And his wife, the wood-carrier, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
