Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
