The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 Erect palaces (thinking) that you will live for ever, 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 gardens, and springs. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day." 135 They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not. 136 This has been happening all along. 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
