Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
