It is He who sends down water from the skies; you drink thereof, and thereof [drink] the plants upon which you pasture your beasts; 10 With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought. 11 He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command. Surely in this there are signs for men of understanding. 12 And there are also Signs for those who take heed in the numerous things of various colours that He has created for you on earth. 13 And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful. 14 And He has placed firm mountains on the earth lest it should move away from you, and has made rivers and tracks that you may find your way, 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? 17 For, were you to count the favours of Allah, you will not be able to count them. Surely Allah is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 God knows all that you conceal and all that you reveal. 19 Those you call on besides God cannot create anything. They are themselves created. 20 Dead (are they), not living, and they know not when they shall be raised. 21
