The Night (Al-Layl)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
