Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 well arranged goblets, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
