Al-Burooj
The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 And the promised day, 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
