Do not think that Allah is unaware of the harmdoers work. He only gives them respite till the Day on which all eyes will stare, 42 They will be hastening forward, their heads unpraised, their look returning not unto them and their hearts void. 43 Warn men of the Day when the punishment will come upon them, and when the wrongdoers will say, "Our Lord, grant us respite for a short while. We will respond to Your call and will follow the messengers." [But God will answer], are you not those who swore that you would never suffer any decline? 44 And ye dwell in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves and it had become manifest unto you in what wise We had dealt with them, and We had propounded for you similitudes. 45 Indeed, they planned their plot, and their plot was with Allah, though their plot was a great (one, still) it would never be able to remove the mountains (real mountains or the Islamic law) from their places (as it is of no importance) [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Vol. 2, Page 597]. [It is said by some interpreters regarding this Verse that the Quraish pagans plotted against Prophet Muhammad SAW to kill him but they failed and were unable to carry out their plot which they plotted]. 46 Never think that Allah would fail his messengers in His promise: for Allah is Exalted in power, - the Lord of Retribution. 47 [It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 48 For on that Day thou wilt see all who were lost in sin linked together in fetters, 49 Their garments of liquid pitch, and their faces covered with Fire; 50 That God may reward each soul for its deeds. Indeed God is swift at reckoning! 51 THIS IS A MESSAGE unto all mankind. Hence, let them be warned thereby, and let them know that He is the One and Only God; and let those who are endowed with insight take this to heart! 52
