The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 but I too plan against them. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
