The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 And those who recite the message, 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
