The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
