The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 those who demand a full measure from others 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 For a mighty day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
