Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
