The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
توجد تمارين تحفيظ للوضعين العربي الأصلي والعربي المخطوط بأحرف إنجليزية فقط. ولا تحتوي الترجمة الإنجليزية على تمارين حفظ.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
