The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And all abomination shun! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 He looked (at others); 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
