Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And created the jinn before him, from smokeless fire. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
