The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
