The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Alif Lam Mim 1 That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing 2 who believe in the unseen, and are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them with; 3 And who believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon thee, [O Prophet,] as well as in that which was bestowed before thy time: for it is they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 Such people are on the right way from their Lord and such are truly successful. 5 As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. 6 Allah hath set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their sights is a covering; and unto them shall be a torment mighty. 7
