VERILY, those who are conscious of God [shall find themselves in the hereafter] amidst gardens and springs, 45 [having been received with the greeting,] "Enter here in peace, secure!" 46 And We shall purge their breasts of all traces of rancour; and they shall be seated on couches facing one another as brothers. 47 Neither any hardship is to reach them in it, nor are they to be expelled from it. 48 ۞ Inform My servants that I am the Forgiving, the Merciful, 49 and that My punishment is a painful punishment. 50 AND TELL THEM [once again] about Abraham's guests 51 When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" 52 They said: Be not afraid, surely we give you the good news of a boy, possessing knowledge. 53 He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?" 54 They (the angels) said: "We give you glad tidings in truth. So be not of the despairing ones." 55 Abraham said: "Who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except the misguided?" 56 Messengers, what is your task?" 57 They answered: "We are sent to people lost in sin [who are to be destroyed,] 58 "(All) except the family of Lout (Lot). Them all we are surely going to save (from destruction). 59 "Other than his wife who, it is decreed, will remain with those who will stay behind." 60
