۞ Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion: He instructs you, that ye may receive admonition. 90 And fulfil the covenant of Allah when ye have covenanted, and violate not the oaths after the ratification thereof, and surely ye have appointed Allah a surety over you. Verily Allah knoweth that which ye do. 91 And be not as a woman who breaks her thread, after it is firmly spun, into fibres, by taking your oaths as mere mutual deceit, one nation being more numerous than another nation. God only tries you thereby; and certainly He will make clear to you upon the Day of Resurrection that whereon you were at variance. 92 Had Allah willed He could have made you (all) one nation, but He sendeth whom He will astray and guideth whom He will, and ye will indeed be asked of what ye used to do. 93 Take not your oaths as mere mutual deceit, lest any foot should slip after it has stood firm, and you should taste evil, for that you barred from the way of God, and lest there should await you a mighty chastisement. 94 Do not sell God's covenant for a paltry price. What is with God is better for you if you only knew. 95 For what you possess will pass, but what is with God will abide. We shall certainly award those who persevere a recompense in keeping with their deeds. 96 Whosoever worketh righteously, male or female, and is a believer, We will surely quicken him to a clean life, and will surely recompense them their hire for the best of that which they have been working. 97 (Muhammad), when you recite the Quran, seek refuge in God from the mischief of satan. 98 Satan has certainly no authority over the believers who have trust in their Lord. 99 The only authority which he has is over his friends and those who consider things equal to God. 100
