The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
