The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the beloved shining star Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him), when he returned from the Ascent. 1 Your companion hath not gone astray, nor hath he erred. 2 He does not speak out of his own desires. 3 that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired 4 something that a very powerful one has imparted to him, 5 The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined towards him. 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 Then he drew near, then he bowed 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 then revealed to his servant that he revealed. 10 His (Muhammad's) heart did not lie to him about what his eyes had seen. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 by the lote-tree at the farthest boundary, 14 nigh which is the Garden of the Refuge, 15 When the lote-tree was being enveloped, by whatever around it. 16 The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza? 19 and about the third deity, al-Manat? 20 What! For you the son, and for Him the daughter? 21 That indeed is a division unfair! 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But it is to God that the Hereafter and this world belong. 25
