And mention Ibrahim in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet. 41 When he said to his father, 'Father, why worshippest thou that which neither hears nor sees, nor avails thee anything? 42 Father, knowledge has come to me which has not come you, therefore, follow me. I will guide you to a Level Path. 43 Father! Do not worship Satan -- for, truly, Satan is a rebel against the Most Gracious One! 44 “O my father, I fear that a punishment from the Most Gracious may reach you, so you would become a companion of the devil.” 45 The father said: "Abraham, have you turned away from my gods? If you do not give this up, I shall stone you to death. Now begone from me forever." 46 Abraham answered: "Peace be upon you. I shall seek pardon for you from my Lord. My Lord has always been kind to Me. 47 And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allah and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy." 48 So when he had separated himself from them and from what they worshipped besides God, We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and We made each of them a prophet. 49 and We bestowed upon them [manifold] gifts out of Our grace, and granted them a lofty power to convey the truth [unto others]. 50
