Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
