The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
