Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
