Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the swift scatterers 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
