And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 It is not permitted to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day: each in an orbit, they float. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved. 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;" 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, “Spend in Allah’s cause, from what Allah has provided you”, the disbelievers say regarding the believers, “Shall we feed these, whom if Allah willed, would have fed? You are not but in open error!” 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They wait not for aught but a single cry which will overtake them while they yet contend with one another. 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
