Thamood cried lies to the Envoys 141 When their brother Salih said unto them: fear ye not? 142 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here? 146 In these gardens and these springs, 147 sown fields, and palms with slender spathes? 148 Though ye hew out dwellings in the mountain, being skilful? 149 So be mindful of God and listen to me. 150 Do not obey the order of the wasteful, 151 who spread evil in the land with no reform." 152 They said: "You are only of those bewitched! 153 You are naught but a mortal like ourselves; so bring a sign if you are one of the truthful. 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 And touch her not with ill lest there come on you the retribution of an awful day. 156 But they cruelly slaughtered her - and then they had cause to regret it: 157 And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 158 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
