And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They link Him with jinns by lineage, yet the jinns know they will be brought before Him. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 What, would they then say: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” – 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
