3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
