The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
