The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
