Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 Human being, what evil has deceived you about your Gracious Lord, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 noble, writers 11 They know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
