The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
