The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And affirms goodness, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
